Kombiglyze XR is an extended-release combination medication containing saxagliptin (5mg) and metformin HCl (1000mg). This prescription medication comes in a package of 28 tablets and is manufactured by AstraZeneca for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. This medication combines two diabetes medicines - saxagliptin and metformin - in an extended-release formulation. The extended-release (XR) technology allows for controlled release of the active ingredients over time. Each tablet contains 5mg of saxagliptin and 1000mg of metformin hydrochloride.
